ICE Bonds Hits Record Trading Volumes in Corporate and Municipal Debt
Intercontinental Exchange's fixed-income trading platform, ICE Bonds, posted record notional volumes in the first half of 2025. Corporate bond trading surged to $120 billion, a 20% year-over-year increase, while municipal bond activity reached $109 billion, up 35% from the same period in 2024.
The platform marked its fourth consecutive year of growth, attributed to expanded functionality and an institutional client network. "This trajectory reflects our ongoing platform enhancements and deepening relationships with wealth managers," said ICE Bonds President Peter Borstelmann.
A notable milestone was achieved with the execution of the first spread-based click-to-trade order, bridging institutional pricing protocols with retail-friendly execution. The hybrid model combines Treasury-spread risk management with one-click accessibility.
